The crash occurred at approximately 11:29 a.m. on the 6600 block of Easton Road (Route 611), according to a press release issued by Interim Chief Nick Virnelson. Officials say the moving car collided with a parked vehicle, which was unoccupied, before slamming into a nearby building, causing structural damage.

The driver and passenger of the moving vehicle succumbed to their injuries, police said. Their identities are being withheld pending next-of-kin notifications. No additional injuries were reported.

Fire crews responded to extinguish the vehicle fire, which was severe enough to temporarily shut down Easton Road between Quarry Road and Saw Mill/Old East Road. Multiple fire departments and EMS agencies assisted at the scene, authorities said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident but did not speak to officers on the scene to call Bedminster Township Police at 215-795-2972.

"Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones of the individuals involved in this heartbreaking incident," Chief Virnelson said.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
